Fifty PEOPLE will be cycling from Bradford to Manchester tomorrow as part of a Free Palestine rally in the north of Bradford.

Organized by Friends of Al-Aqsa, the event starts at 8:30 a.m. in Bradford before ending in Halifax (Jamia Mosque Madni) and Rochdale (Wardleworth Community Center) and landing in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester around 7:00 p.m.

It starts in Lister Park, where cyclists and hikers make their way to City Park at 9:30 a.m.

Susan Hinchcliffe (Chair of Bradford Council), Imran Hussain (MP from Bradford East, Naz Shah (MP from Bradford West) and Dr Ismail Patel (founder of Friends of Al-Aqsa) will then have talks before the drivers are flagged.

Ms. Shah said: “I am delighted that the Bradford community is meeting with people in Yorkshire and Lancashire to support the solidarity campaign in Palestine.

“I will be taking part in the walk from Lister Park to City Park and I look forward to seeing the cyclists doing the brave task of going to Manchester.”

Ismail Patel, chairman of the Friends of Al-Aqsa, added: “It is very encouraging to see people from different backgrounds in Yorkshire and Lancashire come together to raise awareness of Palestine and Palestinians.

“Let’s hope this adds to the voice of reason that calls for justice and peace.”

Shadim Hussain, Board Member of the Bradford Foundation Trust (BFT) said, “BFT worked with friends of Al-Aqsa and other partners to organize the May 30th events.

“In 2017, following the bombings of the Manchester MEN arena that killed 22 innocent people, I was proud to be among 100 cyclists of all origins who took a bike tour from Bradford to Manchester to show solidarity and respect.

“Many of the cyclists have teamed up again to organize this event.

“In recent weeks, as the humanitarian crisis in Palestine deepened, I have found that many locals have wanted to know how to help and support the cause.

“I was really impressed with the work Friends of Al Aqsa have done and I hope more people will support their work.”

Over £ 6,000 has already been raised for Al Aqsa’s charitable friends, who are politically committed to complete justice in Palestine and who have led the pro-Palestinian movement in Great Britain.
