The UK will also ease travel restrictions on unvaccinated arrivals. From 11 February, people who are not fully vaccinated will only need to take a pre-test, a PCR test and complete the simplified PLF on or before day 2 of arrival in the UK

All testing measures for eligible fully vaccinated people arriving in the UK will cease at 4am on 11 February.

Eligible fully vaccinated travelers only need to fill out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF), which is simplified and confirms their vaccination status, travel history and contact details, and people have an extra day to fill it out before travel.

In addition, children aged 12-15 in England can show their vaccination status or proof of a previous infection for outbound travel via a digital NHS Covid Passport from 3 February. This makes it easier for children and families to travel to countries that require proof of vaccination or prior infection to enter, avoid isolation, or access venues or services.

Upon entry, all under 18-year-olds are still considered fully vaccinated, regardless of their individual vaccination status.

The UK will also ease travel restrictions on unvaccinated arrivals from February 11. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated need only take a pre-test and a PCR test on or before day 2 of their arrival in the UK and complete the simplified PLF.

They are not required to self-isolate on arrival and will only need to do so after receiving a positive result.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “We made the right calls at the right time and our vaccine and booster shots are paying off – allowing us to safely lift almost all Covid-19 travel restrictions for vaccinated travellers.

“This latest step in our stable and safe full return to international travel is a major boost for British tourism and frees Britain ahead of the crucial mid-term and spring break season.”

Charlie Cornish, Group CEO of Manchester Airport Group, said: “This important announcement is excellent news for the recovery of our sector.

“This change is welcomed by the millions of vaccinated people who are desperate to travel and are now able to do so – without restrictions – for the first time in more than a year.

“As the UK reopens for business, we look forward to helping people across the country visit exciting new places, find new trading opportunities abroad and travel to see friends and loved ones again.”
