Residents of Milnrow and Littleborough are currently without water due to a “complex” burst water main on Featherstall Road in Littleborough.
The burst pipe was first reported around midday on Friday (15 December), causing low or no water pressure in Littleborough.
After isolating the burst, United Utilities said the repair is “more complex than first thought.”
However, residents across Milnrow have reported a lack of water as of Monday evening (19 December), from Kiln Lane to Smith Hill to Cornfield Street and Selby Close.
The latest updates from United Utilities say: “Our team will be out to complete the required work tomorrow morning, until then the temporary measures will remain in place to help keep supplies on in the area. You may still notice fluctuations in pressure until we have fixed the burst water main.
“Whilst we work to repair the large burst on Featherstall Road, temporary measures will remain in place to keep supplies on in the area. Although we have the additional measures in place customers may notice a fluctuation in pressure until all repairs are complete,
“Our team are working as quickly as possible, but for us to safely complete the repair we need to work on surrounding pipework first.”
United Utilities has been contacted for an update as of 7pm this evening.
