RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Series three participant Veronica Green, originally from Rochdale, was excluded from the competition.
Veronica – real name Kevin Grogan – found herself in the lower two of the week after hitting regular judges and special guest judges, Bridgerton and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan, for the main challenge of the third episode, which aired October 7th, couldn’t impress.
As a result, presenter RuPaul challenged the queens to design two camp-themed garments – “Hello Campers” and “Campfire Couture” – for the catwalk of the week, which consist of various camping materials such as tents, sleeping bags, explosive beds, ropes and umbrellas Kite.
For the first look of “Hello Campers”, Veronica Green was inspired by “I woke up like that” at a festival and wrapped herself in two black sleeping bags that resemble a “fashion silhouette” dress, paired with high-heeled rubber boots and one disheveled Ginger wig.
With the aim of “coming out of a depression to be reborn” to symbolize, Miss Green later adorned black face paint for her second look “Campfire Couture” to contrast a multi-colored garment that reflects a brightly colored butterfly.
During the judge’s reviews, Judge Michelle Visage commented that Miss Green’s first look was “halfway, just not quite there” and her butterfly was “so busy” that you “don’t know where to look first”. Judge Graham Norton added that Veronica had done “so much work for so little result”.

“I had a pretty rough year and a summer depression stole everything,” Veronica replied. “What I wanted to show you tonight was that sadness creates happiness and light at the end of the tunnel.”
Back in the study she thought with her fellow queens: “I am absolutely the bottom of the bin. I’ve got the worst reviews from everyone. They thought the first look was really strong but they didn’t get it and then on my second look they thought it was just too much.
“I feel like I really haven’t done myself a favor this week, I’m having terrible time management issues, that’s something I always have on my mind and I felt like I helped some people too, and.” now I think maybe that kept me from at least being sure. I haven’t put enough energy into myself and I’m paying the price for it. “
The Rochdale Queen landed with her drag queen colleague Vanity Milan among the last two and found herself in a final “Lip Sync for your Life” showdown.
Then Green was told to “sashay away” [leave the competition] from host RuPaul. He commented: “Your wings show that you have come out of the ruins and that you are here to inspire so many other people. I am very proud of you.”
Veronica was also a contestant in the second series but was forced to quit after testing positive for Covid-19. She was invited by host RuPaul to star in the third series, making her the first queen to appear in two seasons that same year.

Shared her frustration at leaving so early the second time, Veronica said, “Not like that! Not in that dress … and that wig came back and fought in that competition. I’ve had a good trip and now it’s time to get off. But a dark day always has a bright side. I am proud to be a Ru Girl! “
Later, speaking to nearly 240,000 total followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Miss Green said in a statement, “The last 18 months have been both the best and worst times of my life, but I can’t say enough how a lot I loved being part of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
“I’m so grateful to Ru and the entire production team for giving me this great opportunity, making my dreams come true and changing my life forever.”
