Colleagues from Co-op Funeralcare in Rochdale and Bury took a sponsored 14 miles walk to raise money for charity.
The team wanted to raise awareness and resources for the Mind charity, a long-time partner of Co-op Funeralcare.
The team started from the funeral home Rochdale on Manchester Road and reached the neighboring Co-op Funeralcare in Bury about two hours later before heading back to Rochdale.
Through their efforts, the team exceeded their £ 150 fundraising goal and raised over £ 300 for Mind to help in the important work they do for people with mental health problems.
Becky Andrew, Funeral Arranger at Co-op Funeralcare in Bury, said, “Giving back to the community is an important part of what we do, and given the hardships we’ve all experienced over the past 18 months, the incredible work we do is Have done by Mind is needed more than ever.
“We were thrilled by the great support that we received from friends, family, colleagues and local residents and that helped us to achieve our fundraising goal.
“We all want to say thank you to Mind for all the support it has given to those dealing with mental health problems, loneliness and anxiety in these challenging times.”
The charity partnership with Mind aims to raise significant funds by involving Co-op colleagues, members and customers in a number of national and local fundraisers.
The amount raised will enable Co-op’s charity partners (Mind, Scottish Association for Mental Health and Inspire) to bring innovative new services to communities across the UK to ensure people get the mental support they need.
The hike took place on August 29th.
