Rochdale Council is looking for a new Director of Public Health and Wellbeing with a salary of £ 95,000 a year.
Rochdale Borough Council is currently recruiting a new Public Health and Wellbeing Director to oversee the agency’s health policy.
In addition to a broader public health initiative, the new director will be responsible for controlling local infectious disease outbreaks, including local pandemic management.
You will also be responsible for running local mass vaccination programs, which comes at a crucial time as Rochdale is an area where the trend of Covid cases is increasing.
The current infection rate in the district is 282.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. This week, 632 cases were registered, 42 more than the previous week.
Andrea Fallon was the last public health director on the council, while Kuiama Thompson is the current acting director.
According to the job advertisement, preference will be given to someone with “a proven track record in improving the health and wellbeing of local communities”.
In addition to being responsible for Rochdale’s public health program, the successful applicant will work with other public directors throughout the Greater Manchester area as part of the Unified Greater Manchester Population Health System.
The new leader will take on leadership roles in all three areas of public health; Health improvement, health protection and population health management.
This includes addressing key priorities such as child obesity, tobacco, alcohol, child poverty and health inequalities.
The successful candidate will be housed in the Number One Riverside building and will receive a salary of up to £ 95,481 per year
