Barrow Elementary School participated in a Zumbathon to raise money for two great charities.
Dane Ghyll Community School & Nursery attended a Zumbathon to raise funds for Manchester Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House after 5-year-old student Isla was diagnosed with leukemia last December.
The fun day consisted of a 2-hour Zumba session, a song session from a former Dane Ghyll student, and a surprise visit from the Ice Cream Man who chilled them all down after they took off their socks.
Isla’s receptionist Victoria Smithson described the day as wonderful and said she couldn’t believe the support.
“Isla is so full of life and loves to dance and is so energetic that we wanted to do something fun and active and came up with Zumba.
“Isla is such a strong girl and her family is great, she is so positive and has had a huge impact on the school.
“We wanted to show our appreciation and give something back to these two wonderful charities who have helped her and many other families with treatment to show how they are making life better.
So far the children have raised 5.5 thousand, with the money still being counted.
